Using other libraries

There are many other libraries in London or further afield which may be useful in supporting your research and studies. It is important to familiarise yourself with access arrangements if you wish to make use of their facilities and resources.

City St George's Library

Arrangements for access to Library Services during the 2024/25 session are explained on our Library Guide. These will be in place to allow access to City St George's Library spaces while systems and services are aligned and integrated.

SCONUL Access

City St George's students and staff can visit other libraries under the SCONUL Access scheme. See their website for details on how to join.

Always check ahead to make sure the library you want to visit is open to visitors or new members.

University of London - Senate House Library

Current City St George's students and staff are eligible for membership of Senate House Library.

Most other libraries in the University of London federation are available for reference use, either through the SCONUL Access scheme or the University of London Libraries Access Agreement.

British Library

The British Library is the UK's National Library. Anyone can visit but to use the Reading Rooms at St Pancras you will need to register for a Reader Pass. Search the British Library Catalogue before you register to see if they have the materials you need. All applications are subject to the British Library's Admission Criteria which is based on 'need'.

Finding Resources

Library Hub Discover allows you to search for material held in UK national, academic and specialist libraries. You can use it to find books and resources not available at City St George's.

Before visiting another library check the visitors section of their website, to find out of there are any restrictions such as collections with limited access.
